I absolutely love dewy skin. No matter what season it is I want that natural glow. I love my skin to be youthful and have a bounce that only comes with healthy skin. Below I am going to outline my favorite products that always give me a beautiful glow, even in the winter.
Before I get into the details I will tell you a bit about my skin. I would say that my skin is fairly normal, although I do experience dehydration all year around. When choosing masks I usually opt for the most hydrating or calming. In the winter I do experience more dryness than usual, which can sometimes make it more difficult to achieve the glow. Stay tuned for another post about some of my skin concerns that include irritation and break outs.
Let’s get glowing!
1. Prep – I always use my be all end all the Josie Maran Argan Oil (are you sick of hearing about this oil yet??) and I follow it up with Amore Pacific Future Response Age Defense Cream. It is very hydrating and smooths out my face making for a great canvas.
4. Bronze & Highlight – I love, love, love the Profusion Bronzer from Makeup Forever. It is just the right color for all year-round bronze. It gives just the right amount of “sun kissed” to my skin. I am a huge fan of all things Anastasia Beverly Hills including her highlighter in So Hollywood. She has multiple highlighters, but this one gives me a Bronzy glow, so I tip off my bronzer with this.
These are just a few of my all time favorite products! What are some of your favorite dewy skin and glowing makeup products? Some of my favorite products have been from recommendations and I need to keep this glow glowing!
I recently did a call out on my Instagram page for any burning questions you may have about me and my life. I have been giving you all the beauty and makeup advice for awhile now but I really want you all to get to know the me behind the lipstick!
I picked a few of my favorites but welcome any new questions in the comments. I love when magazines have those quick all about me Q&A’s at the back so I hope you enjoy this snapshot into me!
What is your go-to cocktail? White wine, champagne, and anything with gin.
What’s the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? I check my phone and read over my group chats with my girls. It’s always LIT 😂
How many photos do you have on your phone’s camera roll right now? 13,660….. normal, no? 🤦🏻♀️
What’s your nationality? Persian 🤗 Born in Iran, moved to Canada when I was 6 💛
What is your biggest pet peeve? Lack of ambition. 🙈
What is your favorite skin care product that you can’t live without? Josie Maran Argan Oil. This is my be all and end all. I start and end my day with this product.
What is your lighting set up? What cameras do you use? I either use natural light or the Diva Ring Light. Honestly waiting for the perfect natural light is one of my favorite things to experiment with. I have a Canon t5i Plus for my selfies and for product placement photos I use my iPhone. Natural lighting is always best for product or flat lay photos as to avoid flash back. If you would like to know what apps I use to edit please comment below!
Have you gone to makeup school? Yes. I took a year long global makeup program. I have continued to learn over the years however and honestly passion is the best thing you can have in your brush belt. Before makeup school I pursued a degree in Criminology/Law and completed a 4 year program. I just could not quiet the voice in my heart that said beauty was my calling.
What was the first CD you ever bought? Destiny’s Child!
Vancouver Fashion Week has been a staple in Vancouver since 2001. Ever evolving – just like fashion – this year’s opening gala (and also the full 7 day show) was held at the Chinese Cultural Centre in Chinatown on September 18th, 2017. This venue lent a hand to the gritty feel of the show – very much Sex in the City circa 1999.
The crowd was plentiful and varied, just the way a fashion show should be. Redken was on hand offering hair touch ups to show goers before they could head to Republic nightclub for the afterparty.
My personal favorite was Charly Thorn. She is an 18 year old Australian designer who made me crave Spring ’18 already! At such a young age she is sure to continue to grow and produce amazing fashion in the years to come. One piece in particular stood out to me. This structured beach suit. Not only the shape but the pattern had me begging to see more. The entire aesthetic of her show had me feeling I could move to an island and live there forever.
Aiki District had a much more laid back and simplistic feel. The neutral colors and unstructured cuts worked so well with the fabrics chosen. Any piece could work alone but also be given your own spin with the right accessories and styling.
I have now tried three products from the line and plan on trying them ALL. I’ve seen a lot of reviews about the products and some are utterly obsessed while others criticize the brand. I absolutely LOVE the products I’ve used so far. The foundation is brilliant, comes in 40 shades for any and every skin tone. It’s full coverage and semi matte. Can add as little as you want to achieve sheer-medium coverage. I use less than a pump on my entire face and love the results. A lot of people say that the foundation oxidizes…. well it doesn’t. When color swatching, leave the foundation on for 1 minute before committing to the color. It typically takes 1 minute to see the true tone . It lasts all day and the color does not change.
Now on to the killawatt higlighters…. if you don’t have one already, go and get one asap. They are magical and don’t add texture to the skin. Below are photos wearing the products. Check out my IG for more upcoming photos, in the meantime, go ahead and check out the line and let me know what you think. xo
