Welcome to Miami

Miami has a population of approximately 5.5 million people and is visited by over 75 million tourists every year! I was one of these tourists just last week and I loved every minute of it. Not only is Miami the city that one of my favorite fashion designers Gianni Versace lived and died, it has the stunning summer weather I love all year around.

Miami International Airport is one of the busiest airports in North America. It’s no wonder with all those tourists every year! Upon arriving I was immediately greeted by Alpha Priority. Alpha Priority Services is a VIP Meet and Greet Airport Concierge Service, including Luxury Transportation. They discreetly expedited me through the airport  to my car.  The entire process was professional and speedy!  Their service was best in class and they made my travel experience luxurious and hassle free. I highly recommend them to any traveler as they are available worldwide. You’ll love your experience as much as I did!

My first stop was my hotel  Mondrian South Beach. It is right on the water of Biscayne Bay and has the type of interior I love. Lots of white and grand staircases with beautiful balconies that look directly out onto the bay. Waking up every morning with that view was a dream. There was an amazing pool with a spectacular view, a great gym, and great dining at Mondrian Caffe.

Isn’t this a dream?
Food with a view– what more could you ask for?

I visited The Sand Box  in 1 Hotel South beach for lunch and I was blown away. Not only by the food but by the amazing interior design of the hotel . 1 Hotel South Beach was voted one of the 10 best hotels in the US by Conde Naste traveler and it is easy to see why. It sits along 600 feet of Atlantic Ocean beach which leaves you feeling like you’re at a resort. This hotel has everything you could possibly need, including a Spartan gym and spa that make you feel like you never have to leave! I could seriously live in that hotel!!

These Falafels were everything!

I went to The Forge restaurant that night for dinner and it was absolutely worth leaving the atmosphere at 1 Hotel. The restaurant has been completely refurbished and has 6000 ft of open space in which to dine. The outside façade looks very art deco circa 1930 and really fits with the vibe of this neighborhood in Mid Beach. The menu was amazing and I loved all the local ingredients in the dishes. Highly suggest this place for a romantic dinner for two!

My final stop this day was Wall Lounge inside the W Hotel. Miami is definitely a city where the day doesn’t start until the night does. Normally I am not a night out kind of girl  but this place did not disappoint. The inside is smaller and more intimate than most clubs/lounges but the music and crowd made for a really fun night. It was definitely a memorable night filled with good vibes and laughter.

I also went to the Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics game while I was there and it was amazing! So many great places and memories were created during this trip. I hope you all got some inspiration for a vacation somewhere warm. Being back in this Vancouver rain is making me relive those Miami days over and over. Bring back the sun! What are some of your favorite destination places?

Don’t worry– I didn’t forget about your request for my makeup looks. Below is the only makeup look I had for the trip; a drop of foundation, liquid liner, touch of mascara, bronzer, and a lip liner/lipstick duo. My other go-to makeup for this trip was a bare-face with SPF and my Josie Oil!!!! Can’t live without it. XO

Being a Tourist in My Own City – Sea to Sky Gondola

Vancouver has been my home since moving from Iran when I was 6 years old. It sees hundreds of thousands of tourists every year, so I thought I would share one of my new favorite places in this beautiful coastal city.

Sea – to – Sky Gondola

This is one of the most exciting things to do with an afternoon in Vancouver. First of all the drive up to the gondola from downtown Vancouver is beautiful on it’s own. The Sea to Sky highway travels along the water at an altitude high enough to create spectacular views of not only the water but the mountains as well. Once there you jump into a gondola big enough to fit 8 people with padded seats and floor to ceiling glass walls for maximum views.

The ride up is a total of about 10 minutes and it is breath taking. I was lucky enough to recently go on a clear, sunny day and I was completely blown away. Once you get to the top there are other things you can do like walking trails, viewing platforms, and the Sky Pilot Suspension bridge. I’m actually very scared of heights so this was a great way to overcome that. The view makes you completely forget about everything else.

Have you ever been on the gondola? What are some of your favorite Vancouver attractions I need to check out? I want to be more of a tourist in this beautiful city and experience all of the amazing places it has to offer!

It’s hard to take a selfie when you’re being blinded by the sun lol.
