I have been wanting to share my skin concerns with you for awhile now. The drastic change in weather lately has brought my skin routine to the forefront and I have been paying extra attention to it. Firstly I will tell you a bit about my skin. I have mentioned in previous posts that I have fairly normal skin however I do have some dullness, dehydration, and my biggest concern which is pigmentation.
I have a pigmentation spot on my cheek that was caused by a laser treatment. I was getting laser for a pigmentation on my nose and somehow they managed to burn my cheek. I went for a few treatments to get rid of it but I wasn’t consistent in going back—oops. Skin pigmentation marks are a buildup of melanocytes (cells containing melanin) under the skin typically referred to as freckles and age spots on the hands, face and body areas. The laser treatments help to get below the skin surface to break up the pigmentation. Does anyone have any recommendations for products or treatments you use for pigmentation? I would love to try out some new places and products!
To address both the dullness and dehydration I have switched up my skin routine from the last time we chatted. I absolutely love my dewy skin makeup products to combat the dullness, but lately I have also been incorporating it into my skin care. One of my new favorite products in the Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask. After just one masking session my skin is glowing! I have added to my routine at least once a week.
Below are the other steps to my routine that I have switched up for not only this upcoming winter weather, but also because I want to tackle that dullness and dehydration head on!
Cleanse: Fresh Seaberry Cleansing Oil followed by Ren Cleansing Water (Always double cleanse!)
Tone: Darphin Intral Toner – Completes the cleansing process with a good dose of hydration.
Treat: Sunday Riley Good Genes – Ingredients like licorice, lemongrass and aloe help you achieve an even complexion. Perfect to help with my pigmentation and add radiance!
Moisturize: Drunk Elephant La La Retro Whipped Cream – The whipped texture absorbs quickly and contains six rare African oils to recover and lock in intense moisture for hours after application. Bye bye dehydration!
I also try to go at least once a month to get a professional grade facial. I have tried them all – exfoliating, hydrating, anti-aging. Do any of you have a facial or spa you absolutely cannot live without?
Leave me some comments below and tell me how you are tackling your own skin concerns. I hope my product recommendations are helpful to you and as the fall and winter seemingly drag on forever – happy hydrating! (But please bring back the sun okay?!)
